hOW TO GET HERE
Dharma Drum Retreat Center is located in Shawangunk in Upstate New York, around a two hour’s drive from New York City. If you would like to visit our retreat center, call or email to request an appointment. Please note that visitors are not allowed when a retreat is in session.
Our center can be reached by car, bus, or train. Typical event check-in occurs between 4 – 6 pm and events conclude at 1 pm. Please plan accordingly to ensure you can attend events in their entirety, out of respect for yourself, fellow attendees, and teachers.

Getting to DDRC from New York City
Shuttle
If there is sufficient interest, we will coordinate a shuttle to and from our center. During event registration, there will be an opportunity to indicate if you would like to take a shuttle from New York Penn Station to DDRC at a cost of $75 each way.
Car
The drive from New York City to DDRC is around two hours in ideal conditions. Please allow extra time in case of delays due to traffic or weather.
Train and Bus
Train and bus service from New York Penn Station will bring you to Middletown, NY. Uber and Lyft are also available in Middletown.
The train from Penn Station to the Middletown station requires a transfer in Secaucus. Transit time is about two hours. (Schedule)

Air Travel to New York City
New York City is reachable by three major airports: John F. Kennedy International (JFK), LaGuardia International (LGA), and Newark Liberty International (EWR). if you are arriving at JFK or LaGuardia, you can take the public transit to New York Penn Station and then follow the directions above for the train or bus. If you are flying into Newark, you can take the train from the airport to the Middletown Train Station with a transfer in Secaucus (Schedule).
