Cooking Meditation (& Vegetarian Cooking Class): Health for the Body and Mind

Event Description

Throughout this vegetarian cooking workshop you will learn the basic principles of maintaining a healthy mind and body.  You will learn techniques for creating delicious dishes utilizing simple vegetables and seasonings that you can find at your local grocery store.

A Chan Monastic, as well as our resident chefs will share their knowledge for cooking healthy East-West fusion vegetarian cuisine.  Everyone will have the opportunity to participate in creating various dishes over the weekend that will fuel our body and mind with the energy to walk the Buddha path.

Over the 2-day workshop there will be periods of sitting and walking meditation to enhance the weekend dedicated to lifting our quality of life.



This event is priced at a fixed rate of $150. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.


Chartered Shuttle

Provided we have enough interested participants, we are happy to coordinate chartered shuttle service from Manhattan Penn Station to our center. The fee for the shuttle service is $75 for one way and $150 for a round trip per person. We will follow up as the retreat nears and let you know if there is sufficient demand to run the shuttle.

The shuttle will depart from Manhattan Penn Station at 2:00 pm on the start day of the retreat, taking you directly to our center. On the end day of the retreat, the return shuttle will depart from our center at 3:00 pm, heading back to Manhattan Penn Station.
