Driving Directions | Public Transportation

The Dharma Drum Retreat Center is located off of Rt. 52 in Pine Bush, NY at 184 Quannacut Road. If you or your group would like to visit our retreat center, please call (845) 744-8114 or email us at ddrc@dharmadrumretreat.org to request an appointment.

Please note that visits are not allowed when a retreat is in session.

Driving Directions:

In Pine Bush:

  • Take Rt. 52 west from corner of Rt. 302.
  • Continue west on Rt. 52 for 2.5 miles.
  • Second traffic light after Rt. 302 is Quannacut Road.
  • Turn right onto Quannacut Road continue 8/10 mile.
  • Two stone pillars mark the entrance to DDRC.
  • First house on the right is the Reception Hall.

From Newburgh and points East:

  • Take Rt. 52 west to Pine Bush town center.
  • Follow directions above.

From Middletown and points South:

  • Take Rt. 17 west to Exit 119 for Pine Bush.
  • From Exit 119 take Rt. 302 north for approx. 15 miles.
  • Turn left at Rt. 52 and follow directions above.

From New Paltz and Points North East:

  • Take Rt. 299 north to Rt. 7 south.
  • Turn right at Rt. 52 and follow directions above.

From Ellenville or points North:

  • Take Rt. 209 south to Rt. 52 east.
  • Continue through Cragsmoor and Walker Valley.
  • Quannacut Road is 4.8 miles past Cragsmoor Road.
  • Turn left onto Quannacut Road and follow directions above.

From New York City:

We are about ninety miles northwest of Manhattan. Take the NY Thruway (Rt. 87) north. There are a couple of ways to get there:

  • Cross the GW Bridge and take the Palisades Parkway north.
  • OR

  • Directly take the NY Thruway north from the Triboro Bridge.

From NY Thruway (Rt. 87):

  • Exit the NY Thruway at Exit 16 (NOT 15 or 15A) .
  • From Exit 16 take Route 17 toward Harriman (Middletown).
  • Continue approx. 20 miles to Exit 119 for Pine Bush.
  • From Exit 119 take Rt. 302 north for approx. 15 miles.
  • Turn left at Rt. 52 and follow directions above.

From Connecticut:

  • Take Rt. 84 west over the Hudson River.
  • Stay on Rt. 84 to Exit 4W (Middletown / Rt. 17).
  • Take Rt. 17 west to Exit 119 for Pine Bush.
  • From Exit 119 take Rt. 302 north for approx. 15 miles.
  • Turn left at Rt. 52 and follow directions above.

Public Transportation

TRAIN

The arrival station is Middletown, New York, about thirty minutes from our retreat center by taxi. Coming from New York City, you would board this train at Penn Station. You can check the schedule of train services from the website of New Jersey Transit.

BUS

For bus services, refer to the schedule provided by Coach USA. Please note that there are three bus stations in Middletown, New York; taxi service is available from each of them.

AIRPLANE

The closest airport to us is Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, NY, about 20 minutes away by taxi.

Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey offers easy transportation via the Airtrain, about two and a half hours from our center. more info

If you are flying into a New York City airport (either JFK or LaGuardia) you can use the NYC Airporter Service to connect with a train at Penn Station, or a bus at Port Authority.

TAXI

Taxi fare from Middletown NY to our center is approximately $35. Here is a list of local taxi companies. We suggest you print this out, as it includes directions and a small map (in case the driver is not familiar with our center).
